I do not expect to have a genius-like AI in the span of a year or so, but slowly, step by step, we can get there. The only hard limitations would be hardware and engine related ones, but these can also be overcomed. You just need to put enough effort into it. It may be really difficult, but it's not impossible. Because of the preciousness of time in Europa Universalis 4, we recommend only investing 5 colonists in this area and letting your new-found colony do the rest You can easily play EU4 on the safe side an opt for a pure colony campaign in Castile, avoiding conflict with most countries As concerns the relief, England can be divided into: Northern. Although not really "perfect", it has much superior decision making and is miles of improvement upon the base experience alone! There is always ground to improve the AI. It greatly enhances the AI of the game to be incredibly challenging. Just take a look at HOI4's Expert AI mod. Sure, it is difficult as hell to make a good AI in these games. Not really a suggestion, but I disagree with the blogger's opinion "AI will never be good at grand strategy games". And honestly, the culture system in EU4 is also pretty bare bones in my opinion. And also repeating what was already mentioned, but just being only one out of many examples of this, I want to be able to negotiate far better terms, policies and plans with my neighboors and other nations with different agendas like in CK3. This would not only greatly deepen the gameplay itself, but it would also provide far more SandBox value to the game. Not just aesthetically, but also gameplay wise. You know, actually feeling when I'm slowly developing an uninhabited province with nothing more than trees and grass into a huge urbanized trade center or something in one of my colonies and not just smashing my mouse click against the "development" button with my Monarch Power Points. Having a deeper internal administration of your nation and a far more complex diplomatic system would really spice things up. Doesn't need to be something as complex like literal real life, but I'd like to do and micro more things in peace time other than sitting down and waiting for my Manpower and Money to replenish for the next war.

alive? I don't know exactly how to describe it as it is a somewhat vague and general thing to say and I know this has been partially mentioned in the article, but I seriously think Paradox should improve and flesh out how your nation and the diplomacy work organically as several parts of a bigger, complex system. Give us something that allows for more variation and creativity with both battles and the war as a whole in general. Make a better combat system already! I know it's hard to have a more tactical gameplay with warfare in a game like EU4, but I seriously hope something better than chasing the AI around across entire continents and using pretty much the same army compositions all over again everytime.
